Venice

Route: all over the place

Hello.

Remember me?

I've not been here for the looooongest time: sorry. I blame Italy's ability to hide its cybercafes and, particularly, its wi-fi hotspots. But I also confess to:

-- five airplane flights
-- four ferry rides
-- three-eeeeee French hens
-- two trips to Norwich
-- and a canoodle with one special woman (though she'd say 'cunnuddleing': her spelling is pretty special, too)

I can sum up my recent besidetheseaside-ness very easily, mind.

I've found it.

Venice. I've been in Venice, and it struck me immediately and happily that I shall return here to live. Maybe when this trip is over. Maybe at another time. Hopefully sooner rather than later.

You'll be glad to hear that my brother's reaction to the news was:

"Make sure my room has a view out over a canal."

So when you come to stay, you'll have a view out over a canal.

Good to find what I've been looking for, but first I have a motorbike trip to finish.

And as the finish has been scheduled for the Russian-Georgian border it's safe to say:
1. I won't have to explain why I don't plan to ride through Abkhazia to anyone ever again
2. I'm open to suggestions as to where to ride to instead.

I'll be updating regularly again now. Thanks for yr patience.

Phew. I was beginning to think you'd fallen foul of Italian driving! Good to hear you're still doing the do... I hadn't realised Georgia was the planned end of the route. How about finishing at whatever neutral stadium it is the Georgians have to play their World Cup qualifiers in now that Tiblisi isn't considered safe? (Apparently Armenia is a possibility) Not strictly 'seaside' I grant you, but a wee nod to geo-political wotsit.

Take care, have fun. Venice is wonderful, isn't it?

Steve

The Italians weren't fast enough to catch me on the Bonneville! (*joke*)

The Roosian-Georgian border has been closed to foreigners for years. Now, at least, I don't have to explain that to people I meet who ask where will the journey finish.. Hmmm I like the football idea. As long as it's somewhere hot...
