In Which I Have A Happy Birthday

Happy birthday toooooooooooooooo you

Yes, it was two years ago today that I set out for Murmansk.

Bloody nora!

And here I am, in Venice.

Bloody nora!

I stood, this afternoon, on a bridge overlooking a dirty green canal. There are 1000 such corners in this city. The man next to me turned to his wife.

"I could stand here for a week," he said.

I knew exactly what he meant. Have you been there? Then surely you know as well.

Within ten minutes of getting off the bus I was taking down phone numbers of rooms for rent.

Happy birthday indeed.

(Everyone else: I met Robert and Peter in a cafe in Albania.. as you do.. and rode with them a few days ago. More details when I manage to update the site!)
