A bit of a day off. Catching up with the blo-- I mean diary. Washing my smalls. Lounging on the beach and having my longest conversation to date in "Italian" with the owner of a bar on the beach. y speaking ItaloEspanoPortuguesyEnglish I manage to make myself understood. Or maybe he was curly and would have said Yes to anything?
I further tried to improve my Italian by buying a motorbike magazine. Riders magazine is a tad more up-market than some of the oil-stained monthlies in the UK. The first pages of the mag feature adverts for Versace, Cartier and Prada.
Bt what attracted me was the cover story: George Clooney interviewed about his love of bikes and his.. Bonneville.
George has a Harley, an Indian and an old BSA too. And a place in Italy. He likes to go on long, anonymous rides with his chums. George.. you know where I am (just bookmark this site) if you fancy a ride. You seem like a decent kinda guy.. but bags I get first dibs on any women who try to catch our attention. Deal?

Today's couldn't-make-it-up driving: three adults and an infant astride a Vespa; the woman holding the baby was wedged between the other adults, holding the child in one arm while talking on her mobile phone with the other. None were wearing helmets. They overtook a bus by lurching in to the oncoming traffic, causing at least one car to brake and twist (and shout).
