In Which I 'Fess Up

May 7, 2008 by Mike

A Campsite Quite Near St Tropez

This is difficult for me to write. I've been denying it to myself for some time now but.. well.. *sigh*.. I can't live this terrible lie anymore. Luckily, I know you'll keep it a secret, dear reader, and won't let on. But.. *gulp*.. I am.. on holiday.

I am.. *eeek*.. a tourist.

Phew.

Hmmm. That wasn't quite as hard as I'd imagined it was going to be. Let me try again.. I am.. a tourist. A tourist am I. I'm a tourist. Hello, my name's Mike and I'm an alco-- I mean a tourist.

OK, it's going to take some getting used to.

And I'm hoping it's just a passing phase. But for at least as long as I'm on this campsite -- which is a bit pricey because it's quite near St Tropez -- with a big heated swimming-pool -- and sun-loungers -- sun-loungers with cushions -- and toilets with seats -- and loo-paper -- and hot water in the sinks -- my *god*! -- then I am a tourist.

--

I can just make out the sea from my pitch at the campsite -- somewhere beyond the washing...
