In Which I Lock Myself In

Benicassim

I'm staying in a very nice, very quiet, very cheap hotel on the seafront. For the same price as the campsite in Benidorm, I get real walls, a roof, a bed with sheets and a blanket, a loo, loo roll (and a loo seat), a bath and shower, towels, soap, a TV, a bedside table, breakfast, a little terrace with two chairs and a table and a view of the Med; I get privacy and a space of my own, behind a locked door.

Last night I stayed in my room and just.. *was*. By myself. It felt very strange.

I may be travelling on my own.. but I haven't actually been on my own, like this, for a looooooong time.

I flobbed out: watched a dvd that I've been carrying with me for months (Pelle the Conqueror, given away free with The Independent a year or two ago. Lovely film, by the way), ate a bag of lettuce, some tomatoes and a red onion, and drank a bottle of house red. Well, after shelling out on the room I could hardly afford to do anything else.

The Benicassim Festival site doesn't look quite ready, does it?
