In Which I Dip My Toes

Brighton

Route: Bournemouth - Brighton

A short ride today, not just because I'm still feeling a little delicate. They promised me rain, but all I've had all day is this weird yellow ball in the sky.. a *blue* sky, can you imagine?.. through the New Forest and along the coast when I remembered to. (This doesn't count as part of the trip, more of a warm-up.)

I came across Sammy Miller's Motorcycle Museum quite by chance; initially rode past, thinking "Mike, you're not really much of a biker, are you?" before guiltily turning round, (a poorly-executed U-turn being the proof I didn't need that I'm *really* not really much of a biker) to check it out. Guess what? There are lots of old motorbikes there.

On the other hand, I love Brighton. (When I was Internet dating, it turned out I dated about a third of the straight female population, so I use the term advisedly.) After the excesses of last night there was no dancing and precious little house red, and certainly no Sly And The Family Stone. Luckily, my good friend Liselle was there to ensure that none were needed.

I've dipped my toes in the biking life again, and loved it again. And here's the rub: while I wasn't on the road I sort of missed it, but coped. Now I'm back, it just feels... *right*. I feel like I might just belong here.

Great news you are on the road again - and yet you b;loody go through Brighton WITH your throbbing machine between your legs and still don't make it to see us. I expect a weird present from your travels ;-)

Steve (Maya sends her love as well I think, but that may have been her just filling her nappy again, not sure.)
