A Little Bit Of Business

Thanks for the messages, emails and kind words for and about my parents. If they understood the Interweb, they'd be very pleased and grateful too. The bike is still in the garage [note to Triumph: waiting for you to agree to replace the warped disc brake under warranty thankyouverymuch].
I've just got off the phone with someone from Radio Four. For those of you reading this outside Britain, that's grown-up radio for Very Clever People. They have a travel programme at 3.00 o'clock on Thursday afternoons and I'm going to be interviewed live in the final show of the series. I'm frantically trying to sober up.
You can access the show and listen online at www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/factual/travellerstree/. I guess the link will work for some time.
'My' episode is the one about 'Gap Years For Old People'. Ha ha de ha hah.

Argh! Unfortunately when I try to listen to the program I get an error and am not able to listen. I have no problem with other archived BBC program but this on...no go.

Well, it took longer to type that entry than to tell the Radio 4 listeners about my 14,000 mile, five month, 14 country start to the trip. I got slotted in to the end of the show.
Or.. as I like to see it.. I was the final item on the final show in the series. All these months, the whole thing had been leading up to the moment when Fi Glover asked me if I was having a midlife crisis... an easy first question and "a lovely phonecall to end on."
Go to www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/factual/travellerstree/ and listen to the last programme/ Gap Year programme. And then fast-forward to 22 mins 44 secs.. for the good bit.
