In Which I Finally Get Online

August 1, 2006 by Mike

Kirkenes

Hello to anyone who's out there. I've had a brilliant time so far -- except for finding wi-fi internet connections. I mean, who'd have thought it wouldf be hard to get online in the middle of the Arctic?

Anyhoo. This comes to you from the Norwegian-Russian border town of Kirkenes. All the streets are posted in both languages and the dialect here is so strong I can't always tell which is which.

All is well, and I've posted back-dated entries for the last few days. So please.. enjoy... comment... come back some time soon.

And now, I'm off to Roosia, wearing an Elvis shirt. I know how to live on the edge..

Ahah, so youre in Kirkenes - thought you'd already reached Murmansk.

Glad you've managed to find the sun - unusually the northern half of Norway has by far the better weather at the moment. Good luck in the next stage: to Russia and back!
